It is 3am in the morning and I am in the cabin. Can’t really catch a nap as no matter how I adjust myself, I can’t find a comfortable way to sleep. The supper I had just now was just a typical flight meal: seafood noodles,….errr… I think I can do much better.
I am glancing through the people around me, some are sleeping, some are chit chatting, and one is watching movie through his laptop. Yeah, Air China does not provide any entertainment except for the bore to my thousand drops of tear cartoon showing in a pathetic 21 inch having a 6 rows distance from me. Concerning my iPod battery life, I decide to save it to the later 6 hours ground travel to the camp site. Out of no way, an air stewardess approaches me and asks me to close the shade; according to her the sun ray will be very strong!
Come on, it is 3.30am and I guess it is too early to talk about sun rise. But soon, I realize her rationale. The next moment when I come to my conscious, it is 5.40! Thank God! I managed to sleep for about 2 hours! And the next thing I realize is that, the thinner layer sun shade indicates sunlight! Sun light at 5.40am? this is rather surprising and I dun know dun rise could be as early as this. Anyway 5.40am also means that I am going to touch down at the Beijing International Airport very soon.
Let’s skip the mundane custom screening and also health screening and I am now wondering at the airport hunting for food before going to Inner Mongolia. Actually food is not the primary concern at the moment but the toilet is. Still I would say Beijing airport still has so much more to improve especially on the food that it offers.
After walking for a moment, I suddenly came to a spot where I glued my eyes on ‘STARBUCK’! Yahoo! I could sit down to have my favourite espresso fappacino doubt shot venti with no cream and I could kill the waiting time by surfing the internet! As usual, I dash to the counter and spoke in mandarin. Come on I still remember I am in Beijing, but I had a problem: how should I order my favourite drink in Chinese?
I paused at the cashier and the forever friendly starbuck cashier look at me with a big smile, finally I gave in, I ordered my drink in English, well luckily she got what I want without much hassle. However she also told me that I need to pay for internet surfing and the process to apply one ID puts me off immediately.
Well well well, then I just sit down and read my books then. Suddenly I heard some familiar music. It is not any other pop songs but my BODY COMBAT songs! I radar around me and found the source: a guy happily showing off his Apple thin air on his lap and practicing the body combat movement (he remained seated and move his fists only). I can’t help but notice him and guess what, he slowly ‘combat’ those patrons sitting near him as the music was rather loud. Body Combat in Beijing Airport!
